Knowing what God says about each situation I face helps me in every area of my daily life. His Word will do the same for you! If you really think about it, Biblical principals can be applied to EVERY situation, EVERY activity, and EVERY aspect to our daily lives. This is also how we show others God, as he lives inside of us. One thing I have learned for sure is that a personal relationship with God, knowing His Word, and then applying it to our daily lives is EVERYTHING! We all need to be sure we are are taking the time to learn God’s Word for ourselves, so that we can apply what we learn and know to be true. There are so many resources out there for us to use to do this. Just a few examples are studying The Bible, listening to programs on satellite radio, watching Christian TV programs/setting the DVR, streaming online programs, listening to our favorite Christian music, and even using Bible Apps on our mobile devices (I will list a few of my favorite and recommended resources in a later post ).
Years ago, when I learned this principal of applying His Word to EVERY situation and then started mindfully doing the application in my own life, I definitely noticed a difference in the outcome of situations; I noticed a difference in how I viewed the outcome, regardless of how it “looked” like it went in the natural world. In addition, I noticed a difference in how I felt. Applying God’s word to all situations in life helps us to change our perspective and view things with a new, fresh, and truthful perspective. Truly knowing Him, His promises, and having that personal relationship with Him gives us confidence: confidence in Him. In turn, the confidence that we have in Him begins to seemingly radiate out of us, showing itself outwardly as self-confidence, which then attracts others to us! Wow! We can then be a “light” to others by sharing what we’ve learned, in hopes that they too, will take hold of it all. Then that person can repeat the same process to help another person! Confidence helps us to be courageous as we face whatever comes our way, knowing that God’s got us no matter what and no matter what the situation or what the obstacles are, and no matter what the outcome, it ALL ends up working together for our good! Yes, I said “ALL!” Even things we may view as negative, insignificant, or even unpleasant. His word tells us to:
Think of the various tests you encounter as occasions for joy. After all, you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let this endurance complete its work so that you may be fully mature, complete, and lacking in nothing. (James 1:2) CEB
How amazing is that?! I leave you today with just a few sweet and comforting characteristics of the God that I will love forever and serve wholeheartedly. These are great verses to use for further study.
Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth. It shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (NIV)
Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (NLT)
Prayer Starter: Lord, you are awesome. Your word says that you make all things work together for my good. Help me to learn and then apply your truths to my daily life so that I can be an over-comer. Show me how to renew my mind so that I view things from a Kingdom perspective that your word teaches me. Help me to show others who you are through my life as an example. I know your Word is true. I am comforted knowing that your Word never comes back void, you love me, and that you have great plans for my life.
Have a great day!
