Bible Verses To Turn A Bad Day Around

Bible Verses For When You Are Having a Bad Day

Bad days, bad weeks, bad months, and even bad seasons will come as long as we are living; it’s a fact. No one likes to deal with them, but we can still choose joy in the midst of them! When we are having a bad day, believing and speaking out loud God’s Word always brings light to dark situations, allowing God’s comforting truth to uplift us.

Below you’ll find some Bible verses to cling to when you’re having a bad day, bad week, bad month, or bad season. My prayer is that you remain hopeful and encouraged no matter what comes your way!

“ I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13) [Read more…]

Tips For Studying The Bible

Studying The Bible Quick Tips

The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. (John 6:63)

The Bible teaches us that God’s words are spirit and life. Because of this truth, the secret to having a successful life is studying and applying teachings from the Bible. As we read God’s word, He transforms us in many ways, and also gives us the ability and the desire to be more like Him in all that we do.

There’s a major difference between just reading and actually studying the Bible. Truly studying the word gives confidence, reassurance, and deeper understanding. Bible studying allows us to experience God.

“Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart.” Psalm 119:34 (NLT)

It can be overwhelming when you first begin studying the Bible. Asking God for help is the first step to developing the habit of studying the Bible. Below I’ve listed a few more tips for getting started on the right track: [Read more…]

Sweet Speech & Kind Words

Sweet Speech and Kind Words Devotion

Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. (Proverbs 16:24 NLT)

We use words daily as a way to communicate. One thing is for sure: it’s not easy to say the right things at all times for any of us! Even though it can be tough, guarding our speech is a wise thing to do. The Holy Spirit helps us, so asking for help with words is what we can do to improve, making sure that our speech is sweet.

The words we speak have the power to influence the atmosphere. So, thinking before speaking is a good way to be sure words are impactful and helpful, not harmful.

For Christians, the goal is to have the words we speak be a blessing to people, not tear them town. Because words are powerful, we are much better off when we choose to use them wisely. Words we speak reveal the motives of our hearts. Being slow to speak is usually the best way to go.  [Read more…]

God’s Provision

God's Provision Devotion

Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God who richly provides us with everything…” (1 Timothy 6:17)

God is many things, including being a good provider. Believers can find comfort in remembering the truth that God is our provider during tough times.

Our God is a God of endless provision! Provision comes in many forms. It is true that whatever it is we are in need of, the Lord  will provide it! What a blessing! There are times where part of God’s provision is for us to actually go through unpleasant things. We know that in the end everything works out as part of the good plan God has for each of us. Growing Spiritual Hunger

Growing Spiritual Hunger Devotion

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. (Matthew 5:6)

Whenever we are hungry or thirsty, our human nature kicks in, prompting us to find something to eat or to drink. As we eat or drink, hunger pangs are filled and our thirst is quenched, until the next meal or snack. Just as we hunger for food and drink, our soul has a spiritual hunger that only God can alleviate.

God loves to pursue us and have an interactive and true relationship with us! The more we draw close to Him, the more He draws near to us.

Come close to God, and God will come close to you.  (James 4:8)

Keeping our relationship with God strong is key to enjoying life. Through right relationship with the Lord, we further cultivate spiritual hunger, causing us to want more and more of God. Your relationship with Jesus is further developed by some simple actions you can take each day: feeding yourself daily, praying daily, and giving love daily. [Read more…]
