He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP)
Everyone searches for purpose in life. When we search for purpose on our own, we end up frustrated, confused, and pretty unclear on what we are supposed to be spending time doing. Many people have no idea what their real purpose is! In order to discover true God-given purpose, we have to consult with the Lord, because He is our maker.
Devotion: He has made everything beautiful in its time
Everything is as God has made it; not as it appears to us! God’s timing better than the timelines we have made up for our own lives. It’s not always easy to accept, but this means we will have seasons of waiting, sitting at His feet, which allows us to grow into what God made us to be. The Lord takes us on an individualized path, at the pace that He sets, in order to grow us and fully equip us for what our ultimate purpose is.
The plan that God has for our lives is ultimately is revealed, but it unfolds little by little. He wants us to enjoy life, trusting Him as we go, ultimately leading us to discovering His purpose. Staying close to Him keeps us sensitive to where He is leading us. Find comfort in knowing that He knows what’s best for you. God sees the entire picture, we cannot!
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NLT)
The Lord is faithful and His word is true, so every promise made to you, friend, will be kept! Our God makes EVERYTHING beautiful in its time and His timing is always perfect.
