Through reading the Bible, it’s clear that God thinks very highly of us. In fact, we are all considered to be God’s masterpiece; His greatest work of art! At times, we have trouble actually seeing ourselves just as God sees us. Many things can come into play that can effect our perception of ourselves and most often things from our past do this. No matter how we feel about ourselves at the moment, we must know that we are absolutely perfect in the Lord’s eyes. The Bible teaches us that God loves us unconditionally. He never stops loving us, but we sometimes find it difficult to receive His love because of our own feelings of guilt over wrong attitudes and behaviors.
Knowing the thoughts of adoration that God has for us helps us be more confident in life, making us more bold and fearless in handling situations. When we are sure of who we are, we can live with true joy! Having confidence in God, in turn, shows outwardly as self- confidence.
You may wonder: What exactly does God say about me? Who am I in Christ? How do I know that I am God’s masterpiece? I’ve listed some verses from the Bible that assure us of God’s love and also verses that instill Godly confidence in us. These are great verses to study, to memorize, write down for quick reference, and to confess daily as reminders of how He views us all:
Reminders of Who I am in Christ:
*I am the head and not the tail; I am above only and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13).
*I am a new creature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
*I am a doer of the Word and blessed in my actions (James 1:22,25).
*I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ unto good works (Ephesians 2:10).
*I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21).
*I am forgiven of all my sins and washed in the Blood (Ephesians 1:7).
*I am delivered from the power of darkness and translated into God’s kingdom (Colossians 1:13).
*I am redeemed from the curse of sin, sickness, and poverty (Deuteronomy 28:15-68; Galatians 3:13).
*I am called of God to be the voice of His praise (Psalm 66:8; 2 Timothy 1:9).
*I am greatly loved by God (Romans 1:7; Ephesians 2:4; Colossians 3:12; 1 Thessalonians 1:4).
*I am raised up with Christ and seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6; Colossians 2:12).
*I have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5).
*I have the Greater One living in me; greater is He Who is in me than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Our true identity has to be found in Christ alone. No person in our life can give us our identity and no person can give us the promise of never leaving us or the promise of never letting us down without failing at it. This is because people aren’t perfect, but Jesus is! He restores, redeems, forgives, gives freely, and He saves! God is ALWAYS there for us, we have to actively seek Him in order to find Him.
Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5-6)
Remember to always be aware of God’s love for you, and put faith in it. You are God’s masterpiece, believe it, and walk in it!
Prayer Starter:
Lord, thank you for seeing the real me and loving me unconditionally. You are great and I am honored to have You as a friend. Help me to always see myself the same way that You see me. Make Your Word clear to me, so that it makes perfect sense to me when I read, allowing me to apply it effectively to my everyday life. You are wonderful and I praise Your name! Amen.
Wishing you all a great week,
