Hey friends! Since my last blog update, we have settled well into 2016 around here and there’s been quite a few little things going on. Aside from having a teething AND sick little boy (no fun ugh!), we’ve had some time to get into a pretty good “groove” for the New Year. I know that 2016 is going to be an awesome year and one thing I am really excited about is the fact that I was chosen to receive an Influenster VoxBox for the first time since I started my blog! I have had VoxBox’s in the years past, but this time around it will be fun to have a blog platform to share a review! I’ll let you know my thoughts on the contents after a few weeks of testing out 🙂 I have much more to share today since it’s been quite a while. Grab a warm drink (because its FREEZING out) and let’s chat!
Before we get started: This creamer is amazing if you are looking for a new flavor to try in your warm drink~ I Love this stuff! I’ve been using it a bunch! YUM!
Ok now…
Let’s Catch Up!
One// 2016 is in full effect and this New Year has me super motivated to push even more for excellence in every area of life. One of my goals for the year was to start a Bible reading plan. So far, I’ve really been proud of myself for sticking to one I found using the YouVersion Bible App. The one I like is The One Year Bible Plan. In addition to the Bible reading plan, I have been motivated to simply read more often. I have some really good books on my list to read! Please let me know in the comments below if you have any book recommendations for me!
Two// MY BABY IS ABOUT TO TURN 1!!! Jacob’s first year practically flew by and I have been really emotional watching him explore, become a little more independent each day, and try his hardest to walk on his own – almost there! It feels like it all happened overnight but I am so grateful as I watch him grow into all that God designed him to be. He is so busy and “talks” a ton; I love that little voice of his! Just before the holiday, we went out and got him what I like to call a “big boy wardrobe” for winter and he looks so much like a big boy in his clothes lately! #adorable. Be sure to check back soon- I’ll be sharing his winter wardrobe favorites in an upcoming post. I’ve been working so hard and having such fun planning and making things for his very woodsy Winter “One”derland & Little Lumberjack themed party for weeks, which is going to be on this coming Saturday. I plan on sharing some parts of his party as well, so be on the lookout!
Three// I was in dire need of new eyeglasses. Before getting new frames, most days I chose to wear contact lenses and I usually mainly reach for my eyeglasses after my makeup is off and pj’s are on for the evening. I decided to go in a complete different style direction with this pair and chose these Kate Spade Maribeth style, which has a slight cat eye look. I am LOVING them so much! I actually have been skipping my contacts most days and wanting to wear my glasses for the day! I have been experimenting with some cool eye makeup looks for girls who wear glasses, which has been fun! Speaking of makeup: the CVS drugstore makeup clearance sale was great! I was able to pop in there and get just a few things to add to my stash. The prices were amazing…I only spent about $4 and got three really good things! I grabbed two of the Revlon Parfumerie Scented Polishes and a great new mascara by Rimmel. This is one of my absolute favorites sales that comes around semi-annually. I can’t wait for the next sale I hope to get more things to try at 50-75% off!
Four//Eddie and I have both been really busy and we are always working great together as a team on parenting and with our overall household flow. He is such a great hubby! One goal that we both share for 2016 is to make sure we are both fully present and in the moment and not distracted by our phones, laptops, ipads… you know – all that stuff haha. It’s so easy to be a little pre-occupied and distracted with these things all day long and to not even realize it! I have done well so far with setting a cut off time each night and with making time frames for using devices during the day in an effort to continually stay completely present in life.
Five// As far as my little space online goes, I have to say that I really enjoy blogging! I am so thankful to all of you for being here and look forward to all 2016 has to offer. I have some new things I will be taking part of that I am excited to share with all of you as they come! I am always looking for ways to better my blog and myself so you may notice a few new things, changes, and updates here and there. I am really on a mission to constantly work smarter because time is precious! I am learning as I go and enjoying the journey…that’s what its all about!
Six// I have been using my planner and fun stickers like a madwoman! I’ve been using my basic large scale Mead planner found at Target for months but I definitely have my eye on a few super cute planners available. Before the Mead Planner, I had The Day Designer by Whitney English. Can we just talk about the fab black and white stripes and gold hardware for a minute? Love! I have a thing for black and white stripes! Check out my DIY black and white striped planters here. I love the way they turned out! This time around I am looking for something a little more playful. This one and this one are two of my current favorite planners. I am hoping to make a decision and purchase a new planner really soon. I have also been re-organizing, de-cluttering like crazy, and deep cleaning the house. I am one of those weird people that actually LOVES to clean up… always have been! I have discovered some awesome new household products and methods that I’m loving to keep things fresh and tidy. I’ve had fun finding new ways to organize as well as new ways to spruce and utilize different spaces in our home.
So that’s what has been going on in the past few weeks in my world! I have some really fun posts planned and look forward to posting again regularly. I hope you all have a phenomenal week!
What goals do you have for 2016? Also, what are some yearly planners that you love? Let me know in the comments below and I will check them out!
