Twice a week, I mask.
….And its for good reason! Facial masks provide tons of benefits for the skin. The tricky part can be finding the right facial masks for your skin type and skin concern. Once the right products are found, they really make such a difference in skin tone and texture.
When L’Oreal released this line of pure clay masks, I wanted to know more. Mainly because this line features 3 unique masks, each one driven by 3 different clays to work wonders on your complexion. Clay is great in skincare since it really draws out impurities…gets gunk out of pores!
- Detox & Brighten Pure Clay Mask ( Charcoal/black )
- Exfoliate & Refine Pure Clay Mask ( Red Algae/red )
- Purify & Mattify Pure Clay Mask ( Eucalyptus/green)
The great thing about these masks is all of them are designed for ANY skin type to use. I chose the Detox & Brighten Clay Mask and the Exfoliate & Refine Mask to add to my collection first.
Let’s take a look: Detox & Brighten Clay Mask :
The Exfoliate & Refine has just as many benefits:
Review | L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks:
The overall weight of the jars is definitely what I noticed first. The square-shaped glass packaging on these is sleek and compact, while still feeling substantial in the hand. There is plenty of product inside each container and these masks have a very high-end feel, which I like.
The Detox & Brighten mask has a thick and creamy consistency similar to that of pudding. It glides over the skin for a smooth application. A little goes a long way with both of these masks. I was actually able to get about 3 applications from just what was on the stopper (inner lid) of the jar! They do set and harden at about 10 minutes, but I leave it on for 15 just as the directions say to. Once rinsed completely, I notice that my skin is really soft and feels very clean.
The Exfoliate & Refine mask is the same creamy consistency, but this one also contains tiny granules to help you manually exfoliate your skin when rinsing off. With both masks, my skin feels cleaner, softer, and brighter! Of the two, I would say the charcoal one is my personal favorite and will be purchased over and over again. The red clay mask is equally nice and really polishes the skin. I would like to try out the green mask (Purify & Mattify) next to compare the two.
*Tip: In an effort not to completely ruin my white facial cloths, I did find it helpful to rinse each by splashing with my hands first. Then I go back in with a wet facial cloth to remove the excess product.
Both masks do have a fresh smell that is very spa-like, not overpowering. The scent does fade slightly as the masks dry.
Overall, these masks are and excellent choice at the drugstore! They are not only affordable and easy to get your hands on, but they are EFFECTIVE! Expect immediate results with these! They don’t take much time to set, so they are perfect for busy moms and any other busy ladies who enjoy a masking session here and there.
L’Oreal Pure Clay masks are gentle enough to be used 2-3 times a week, just be sure to follow up any clay mask with a good moisturizer to replenish moisture. These go on sale off and on and they are currently Buy One, Get One 40% off !
*Tip: Try using more than one mask at a time! Apply the appropriate mask in the different zones of your face, depending on what skin concern you are targeting in each zone. This is great whenever you have multiple skin concerns you want to address —- conveniently, all in one masking session. For example try using all 3 options by L’Oreal at once : shiny t-zone, clogged pores on your cheeks, want to mattify everywhere else 🙂
Will I repurchase/recommend: Yes and Yes! You will love them!
