Collective Beauty Haul

Beauty Haul

Hey guys! Hope y’all have had a good week 🙂 We have been traveling a lot and super busy all week, but it feels so good to be back home and settled!  I’ve got a quick collective beauty haul to share just in time for the weekend. This time I have good things from First Aid Beauty, Marc Jacobs, Real Techniques, and Derma E. Keep on reading to see what I’ve added to my (ever- growing) stash!

Beauty Haul

Derma E 2-in-1 Purifying Charcoal Mask – Who doesn’t love a good charcoal mask? This brand in general is nothing short of amazing. Plus, I’ve heard many good things about this detox mask! Do you guys have any faves from Derma E?

Beauty Haul

First Aid Beauty Red Clay Body Bar – This body bar will be nice to use to combat any body breakouts.

Beauty Haul

First Aid Beauty Illuminating Moisturizer– Fuller coverage foundations = perfect during fall and winter.  This illuminating moisturizer (that has a matte finish!!!) will be fabulous underneath foundation for a natural glow.

Beauty Haul

Marc Jacobs Enamored Polish: Funny Girl – Yes to deeper polish shades! I’m also still loving nude polishes, even for fall! This nude is deeper in tone, making it perfect to add in the rotation.

Beauty Haul

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush– This is the best drugstore foundation brush. I needed a new one because the bristles were dried out of my previous one for some reason. It buffs foundation beautifully for a flawless finish.

What are some of your recent beauty buys? I’d love to know!

Have a relaxing weekend, sweet friends!

God Finishes What He Starts

God finishes what he starts devotion

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)

Everything that God starts, he finishes. Wherever he leads us, he will provide for us. Life may not be perfect right now, but focusing on what God has promised is what strengthens our trust in him.

We are in partnership with the Lord. In the verse above, Paul understands that good outcomes are not up to him but rather are ultimately up to God. All of Paul’s trust is in God – and only God! The Lord wants us to operate under this same understanding in our own lives. Reading the word of God prepares us to do good and transforms us for what God wants us to do.

Devotion: God Finishes What He Starts

As we continue to draw closer in relationship, we can rest assured of these two things:  that God is capable of doing the work in our lives, and has promised to complete it! Day by day, we are being made into what God wants us to be. Past disappointments and failures don’t hinder the good work God wants to do in our lives. True repentance and turning back to God allows Him to continue to work in us. God is simply looking for our cooperation.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29)

Great things happen when we turn our focus away from ourselves, and more on Jesus. When this shift happens, we are more able to partner with Jesus to do His work here on earth.

Additional Verses For Further Study:

“Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” (Isaiah 64:8)

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
“The LORD will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O LORD, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” ( Psalm 138:8)

Prayer Starer:

“Lord, I am thankful that You equip me for every good work! Every day, I ask that I am made more like You. You are faithful.”

Wishing you all a great week!

Drugstore Haul Update | What Worked & What Didn’t?

A few weeks back I was able to haul just a handful of new beauty products from the drugstore. Now that I’ve had time to use everything and form an overall opinion on them, I wanted to share my quick thoughts for any of you who wanted to give some of them a try. Keep reading to find out how everything went 🙂

Loreal Pure Clay Charcoal Cleanser Review

L’Oreal Pure-Clay-To-Mousse Cleanser  –If you like the mask formula of this new cleanser by L’Oreal, then I think you’d love this cleanser! When I use it to detox my skin here and there, I notice that it really does keep pores clear. Leaving it on for a few minutes, just like you would a mask, really does deliver just about the same results as this same formula that is available in mask form (in the square glass jar packaging). If you’ve been thinking about giving this a go: Final Thoughts: thumbs up!

Loreal Lash Paradise Review

Loreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara- Ladies … If you haven’t tried this mascara yet – R U N and grab it, please! The packaging alone is a selling point but the product performance is amazing for a drugstore mascara. It gives lots of volume to my barely there lashes, making them pop and appear full and dark. It doesnt flake, smudge, or transfer. The price is amazing for what you get. Final thoughts: Thumbs up!

Loreal Blending Sponge Review

L’Oreal Blend Artist Infallible Foundation Blender- From my experience using this blending sponge, it does perform just like the Beauty Blender, just as so many YouTubers have described. The price is more affordable and getting it at the drugstore means you can apply coupons to get it even cheaper. Makes foundation look very natural and doesn’t soak up a ton of foundation. Final Thoughts: Thumbs up!

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation- Ok y’all…  this one didn’t work for me. The shade is a spot on match but … oh my is this dewy on my oily skin! Yuk I looked incredibly oily! I mattified it as much as I could with a few different powders (different occasions , of course ) and still noticed crazy tons of unwanted shine within 2 hours of applying.  This one gets a thumbs down for me — I actually returned it.

Milani Setting Spray Review

Milani Make It Last Makeup Setting Spray- I have a big collection of facial sprays and mists in my beauty collection. This one fits right in! It sets well and keeps makeup on and looking good for a great price point. I like the mid-size packaging and the spray nozzle gives out the right amount of product when applied. Final Thoughts: This one gets a thumbs up, too!

Biore Charcoal Self Heating One Minute Mask- These work well to keep skin clear and happy. If you’re looking for a quick-use charcoal face mask that is convenient for traveling, give these a try. It really works in just a minute and the self heating feature feels great on the skin to detox. Final Thoughts: Thumbs up!

Hope you enjoyed this post and got some useful info from it! What beauty products have you picked up at the drugstore recently?

Start Your Day Off Right With These Verses

Bible verses to start your day off right

I’ve learned from experience, that in order to start my day off right, I need to begin each day and end each day with the word of God. Many of you can relate and we can agree that one thing’s for sure: Gods word brings hope, light, and clarity! We need to be filled with God’s word in order to be salt and light in the world as we are called to be.  Encouraging words help not only us, but others around us. Below I’ve compiled a list of some of verses to read and meditate on throughout the day that’ll definitely help you start every day in the right frame of mind with a loving spirit. I hope you enjoy!

Bible Verses To Start Your Day Off Right

“Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.” (Psalm 119:165)

“May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)

“The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)

“And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)

“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” ( Colossians 3:12)

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” ( Philippians 4:12)

“Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” (Proberbs 3:6)

“God is in the center of her. She will not be moved. God will help her when the morning comes.” (Psalm 46:5)

“Make a clean heart in me, O God. Give me a new spirit that will not be moved.” (Psalm 51:10)

“You are the light of the world. You cannot hide a city that is on a mountain” ( Matthew 5:14)

Prayer Starter:

“Lord, thank you for this great day! As I go into the world today, allow your light to shine through me. Use my words, thoughts, and actions for Your glory.”

Tell me friends, do you have any favorite verses that help you start the day off right? Let me know in the comments below!

Wishing you all a great week!

Products Every Beauty Routine Needs for Fall

Fall Beauty Essential Products

For the fall season, we generally start to transition from using much lighter products on a daily basis to choosing nourishing and much richer products. Now is the perfect time to update hair products, skincare products, body products, and fragrances to make sure you always look and feel your very best as cooler weather heads our way!

Body Scrub

Using a body scrub year round is a great idea to keep skin soft and exfoliated. When body butters and body oils are applied right after, skin will feel extra soft and smooth! Try experimenting with seasonal scents for an instant pick-me-up when you shower each day. Here’s my new favorite scrub for fall!

Body Butter

Time to trade in our thinner consistency lotions for those ultra rich body butters to make sure skin is hydrated and happy. There are so many seasonal scents to choose from that make moisturizing just a little more fun!

Lip balm + Lip Scrub

A good lip scrub will definitely keep lips ready for lipsticks, glosses, and stains. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a good lip balm! Choosing one that is thicker in consistency will keep lips protected from the cooler temperatures and wind while on the go and just before bedtime. There are some great options that include SPF protection for daytime.

Hair Mask

Moisture loss in hair can be prevented this fall by using a deep conditioning hair mask. Heavier in texture, masks give tons of added protection we all really need as the weather changes.

Products Every Beauty Routine Needs For Fall

Fragrance for Fall

It may take some shopping around, but you’ll find your “Signature Scent” for fall! Deeper, woodsy, cologne-like, and musky scents are popular during the fall season. Mixing a few of your favorite heavier fragrances is a great tip for when you can’t decide which one to use. Check out my favorite scent for fall down below!

Facial Moisturizer + Mists

Many prefer to swap lighter gel moisturizers for more creamy moisturizers during this time of year. Skipping moisturizer is never a good idea, even if you’re oily, so opt for one with a light and creamy texture that won’t leave a greasy film behind. Face mists add a boost of radiance as well as hydration in addition to daily moisturizers.

Foundation

We tend to bring out our heavier and more full coverage foundations when the weather changes for fall. Adding a powder over top of foundation not only gives extra coverage, but also helps with oil control if your skin is on the oilier side.

Deeper Lip Colors

No matter what formula lippie you prefer, go for the deeper shades for fall! Berry shades, vampy shades, the perfect red, and even warm nude shades look great during this time of year.

Metallic/Amber-toned Eye Shadow

Shimmery bronze tones are gorgeous on the eyes this time of year! Adding a touch of winged liner really gives a dramatic effect to the look.

Dark Nail Polish

While light neutrals still work during this time of the year, choosing a darker neutral such as a gray tone , taupe , or even black always looks great when its cooler out. Berry shades, reds, and plum shades also go well with mostly anything for fall.

What products do you like to use when fall rolls around? Shop some of my recommendations down below!

Have a great weekend, friends!
