Over the years, I have used lots of awesome Christian resources to encourage me on my journey and to strengthen my knowledge of God’s Word. Life is busy and its nice to keep apps, handy devotionals, favorite shows/recordings, and other resources nearby to stay centered in the Word of God. Loving Lately: Buffalo Plaid

Ahh, buffalo plaid: its everywhere and I’m LOVING it! My favorite is the red and black buffalo check (buffalo plaid) combo. This bold and classic print can be found on so many items from clothing, accessories, makeup bags, rain boots, slip on sneakers, umbrellas, serve ware, drink ware, home decor items, pet accessories, bedding, and more! I’ve gathered a few of my favorite and most affordable things that come in this adorable print just in time for the holidays! I really love the idea of using plaid when decorating for Christmas.

Yes, plaid in different colors can easily be incorporated in home decor all year round, but there’s something so warm, welcoming, and oh-so cozy about adding it during the holidays! Easy and Comfortable Outfit and Simple Makeup

I love an easy and comfortable outfit just as much as the next girl! Since it has been raining non-stop in the Charlotte area for the past few days, today I’m sharing a casual and rainy day outfit that I really enjoyed wearing. I picked this simple outfit because of the messy weather and because I knew that we weren’t going to be doing that much:

Grabbing lunch
Running a few errands, including a trip to TARGET!!!
Casual dinner out with some friends later in the evening 🙂

When I’m going to be out for a majority of the day, comfort is key. On this type of day, I always know that I will need comfy feet and non-fussy clothes and accessories! Also, Jacob is 9 months old now and I have to be able to get to him easily, be ready for anything, and maneuver effortlessly. Right away I knew that my riding boots would be the best choice for shoes. After I chose those, the other items fell into place. A soft button down top with a good drape is so versatile and can easily be dressed up or down depending on jewelry and shoes worn with it. The boyfriend shirts from AEO are great and slightly longer in the back, so the front of them can be tucked in nicely. They also work great for leggings. I consider this Olive green one a staple in my closet. I often go straight for this shirt and it is one of those items that we all have in our closets that we “just know” works every time- making getting ready so easy. I’ve shared before that I adore the look of mixing metals in home decor and the same goes for with my jewelry! I wear jeans most of the time and H & M has the most awesome and affordable selections of skinny jeans that fit so well- I have had mine for three years and they have just gotten better with time! Roller-ball fragrances have been good to use while on the go and take up no space in my bag. I took Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black with me for refreshing while out. Daily Intimate Time With God

The Bible is our guide for daily living and we should seek God’s presence continually. Having consistent and daily intimate time with God is a goal that many of us have, but sometimes that goal is difficult to accomplish. We find ourselves racing through life, busy with things to check off of our to-do lists, our work, obligations, relationships, and much more. God actually desires for us to spend quality time with Him each day because He loves us that much! We can choose to spend this quality time with the Lord in the first portion of each day, as well as having mini-moments throughout the day, and also at the end of each day. Some prefer to spend quality time with God through using a combination of all of these methods throughout the course of the day. To worship is to reverence and to honor God. Spending quality time with the Lord each day is a form of worship, which makes God smile. He wants us to know Him, love Him, and worship Him. We always find joy when worshipping Him.

Our faith is further developed each time we fellowship with the Lord, preferably through daily intimate time. We have to be sure that we are truly setting out to enjoy God during this time together and not just simply trying to check something else off of our lists. God wants us to fill each day of our lives with meaning and with purpose. Spending time with Him allows Him to reveal things to us that lead us into meaning and purpose in our lives – His will.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

When preparing to take out some time to spend with God, here are a few things to remember :

Focus on is TODAY only and the fact that we can have time with Him today. Don’t worry about making promises about tomorrow and thinking of what things we will do tomorrow. Follow Jesus one day at a time, this keeps us in the center of God’s will.

October Baby Favorite Items

Is anyone else really excited for the weekend to officially begin?! It’s going to be Jacob’s very first Halloween, so I just can’t wait to dress him up in his little duckling costume!!! We don’t get too much into actual Halloween in my family, but we are going to dress the baby in a cute costume (how could I not!) and hand out candy to the neighborhood kids. With October just about to end, I am looking forward to November and all of the Thanksgiving festivities coming up, as well as my Birthday that’s in early November. Today, l’m all about sharing with you guys our Baby + Mommy Favorites for October. We have constantly used these few things around here. Here’s a quick view of our baby favorite items for the month:

Mustela Stelatopia– This moisturizing cream has been a true lifesaver lately for Jacob’s dry skin. It is geared toward babies and kids with very dry and/or eczema-prone skin and it has worked wonders for his dry areas. It’s very light and I love that it absorbs easily because these days, I can’t hold him down! He’s all over the place when we try to change his diaper, dress him, or moisturize his skin! This has been used a whole lot for the month of October.
Halloween Sleep N’ Plays– These were just too cute and are festive without being morbid and scary. No way was I going to pass these up on a trip to Wal-mart a few months ago! I grabbed them and put them away until October officially [Read more…]
