11 Things I’ve Really Been Loving Lately

I hope you are keeping warm and enjoying the season! I’ve been elated that it seems to have cooled down a bit more consistently in NC (at least for now) and we have enjoyed doing some of the typical Autumn activities for sure.  Today, is all about the things that I have been using a bunch- a whole bunch! So today I have a mixture of clothing and accessory items, one lifestyle love of mine, and of course a few beauty- related things that I have been loving lately. Happy Reading, friends!

  1. Lumene Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover– This has been a nice little addition to my routine at night before washing my face. I made a mistake and grabbed waterproof mascara the last time I bought mascara and we all know how annoying that can be! This remover is awesome at getting all eye make up off quickly so I am not tugging on my eye area when used with a cotton pad. It’s very affordable, doesn’t burn my eyes, and is comparable to many higher end removers.
  2. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Shower Gel– This has been so appropriate for the season! It not only smells yummy like pumpkin, gingersnaps, and vanilla, but it lathers well and leaves my skin with a light scent reminiscent of all things Fall.
  3. Lancôme Tiente Idole Ultra 24HR Foundation– I have used this a lot when going out and about over the past few weeks. It looks incredibly natural, which is important in a foundation for me. I find that I don’t need more than a dot or two to get a matte and even base on my entire face. It doesn’t transfer or get shiny on me, which is a pretty big deal with my oily skin. I apply with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and it all works wonderfully together.
  4. Soap & Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream– I am becoming a major Soap & Glory fan and have been using and loving lots of their creams lately! This foot cream has been great  [Read more…]

Make Me Live By Your Way ~ Psalms 119:37

Psalms119:37_Turn_My_Eyes_From_Worthless_Things

Many things that actually have little to no value call for our attention daily. These things can eventually end up distracting us from having the fruitful life that God wants us to have. Psalms 119:37 is another one of my all time favorite Bible verses because it serves as a great reminder of what we should be focusing on the most. We should center our hearts and minds away from things that add no value to our lives or to the lives of others. The Psalmist is praying and asking the Lord for help to keep his mind focused on the things that really truly matter in everyday life, so that he can live in a way that is pleasing to God. The closer we are to God, the more fulfilling our lives will be. We must keep our line of prayer open and talk to God constantly to remain close to Him. It is so amazing that God is truly concerned about every single detail of each of our lives! It’s important to Him that we clean up our thought life and redirect our thinking in order to seek His Kingdom first in all we do. We all have hobbies, interests, and things in our lives that we like to do and to be a part of. These things are surely a part of who we are, but we must be sure that we are living a balanced life overall. Essentially, being unbalanced means that we are doing too much of something and not enough of another thing. We have to be careful not to let wrong things have too much weight and value to us, making us unbalanced. This encompasses an array of wrong thoughts and things, including having too much of a focus on material things. It is important to understand that it is perfectly fine to have a healthy affection for certain things, but we must remain balanced.

Desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33 CEB)

Jesus wants us to have a great life and He wants us to actually enjoy our daily lives to the fullest! [Read more…]

Make Your Own Easy Homemade Baby Food

How_to_make_easy_homemade_babyfood_puree

Today is all about making easy homemade baby food! I have had the best time making baby food for Jacob! He thinks the food is pretty tasty and I enjoy the whole process of making it for him, coming up with my own recipes for him, following fun recipes I find, and also I like knowing what exactly goes into his food and into his system.Introducing one new food at a time every 3-4 days and keeping a notebook of what has and what has not been introduced is very helpful in the beginning. Once you have individual foods that have been safely introduced, it’s great to begin mixing the approved individual foods together and having some fun with variety of foods and textures.  The notebook also includes information on whether or not he liked or did not like certain foods on their own, and also what happened with different combinations given. I find the notes and photos taken of him trying each food for the first time to be a good little keepsake as well.

It’s not only cost effective to make your own baby food, but it actually takes very little time and is pretty simple [Read more…]

Perfect Peace ~ John 14:27

John14:27Peace

Peace can be described as freedom from disturbance; quiet and tranquility.

There are several promises of God outlined for us in the Bible. John 14:27 focuses on peace given to us by God. The more we develop our own personal relationship with the Lord, the more evident these promises will appear to us through prayer, as well as through our daily reading of the Word. One promise is that the Lord has made is that He gives us His perfect peace. When something is perfect, [Read more…]

Current Wishlist: Home Decor Items

There are tons of things I want to get for all different categories and I keep a running Wishlist for each at all times …you should see the notes section of my iPhone haha! Today I want to share my current Wishlist for Home Items. I am not doing a complete over-haul and start from scratch with my home decor. I am just wanting to simply add to what I already have going on, with the exception of us planning to add a neutral colored sectional sofa on the main living floor and then us replacing our current bed with an upholstered bed in the upcoming months. The inspirations seen above will mesh seamlessly with the current mood of my overall home design style. With lots of refreshing and rearranging in the works, these are the things that I am most inspired by for now as I shop around for home items:

1. This unique vase from Z Gallerie has been on my list for quite some time. I love how it adds interest and would look stunning with fresh flowers in it.

2. This gold flatware set looks so chic and it is perfect for my home because I enjoy the look of mixed metals.

3. This tray is very glam and I would like to use it in my Butler’s Pantry area to display some pretty gold-etched glasses. I like the mixture of metal and glass on this one. It makes a very nice contrast with the difference in materials used.

4. These vases are inexpensive and from the H&M Home line. [Read more…]
