Favorite Baby & Mommy Products for September

I have a few baby and mommy favorites to share for today’s post! September is quickly coming to a close and has been a great month for sure. Jacob is growing up way too fast and we have been enjoying lots of things for the entire month. So, I wanted to take some time and share a few of our favorites and why we like them. Take a look!

SEPTEMBER baby Favorites

1.Bright Starts Teethe Me Pal Teether– Jacob is teething and absolutely adores this little blue elephant teether. The design is so clever- it has four legs that mimic baby’s own fingers! He gets hours of soothing relief from this thing. It’s the best $5 ever spent and definitely a favorite baby product of ours! I like how the body of the elephant is easy for his little hands to hold and how it is dishwasher safe.
2.Fisher-Price Superstar Step n’ Play Piano– This bright and fun activity center keeps baby very interested because of the colors and there’s so much to do. With the glider rails he is able to walk/practice walking down the center of the center forwards and backwards. The seat allows him to spin around to all areas front and back, or simply stay stationary and bounce to practice standing while playing with the gadgets. What I love most is that it grows with him so he can continue to use it until he is a toddler, as it converts to have stand and play work stations for older kiddos once the seat is removed. The cute little piano base is fun for him too.
3.Dr. Brown’s Glass 8 Ounce Bottles– These bottles are great and I absolutely love using them! We have been using these since he was a newborn and while I was  breastfeeding to allow my [Read more…]

Focusing Thoughts ~ Philippians 4:8

Think about these things

Philippians 4:8 is a thought-provoking verse in the Bible.  It reminds us that we must remember to be conscious of our thoughts and also that we must ensure that we are focusing thoughts in the proper direction. Sometimes our minds can wander and get unfocused, causing us to seemingly forget what we know to be true. I’m surely guilty of this. The mind can begin to then feel cluttered and be completely unfocused with tons of things running through it, sometimes even simultaneously. We may find ourselves constantly [Read more…]

Plans to Prosper ~ Jeremiah 29:11

JER 29 11

Have you ever felt confused as to what direction to take on a decision that needs to be made in your life? I sure have. When uncertainty sets in, some people tend to worry while others tend to do nothing out of fear of possibly making the wrong choice. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, made it so that we don’t have to live being worried, confused, or afraid to make choices in life! It is important to know that confusion and fear are not from God. These two emotions are tactics used by the enemy to get us off course by making us distracted from God’s plan for us. God’s nature is to be loving and to make things crystal clear for us so that we take hold of the peace that is available to us and then also live in this peace that only He provides. The plans that He has for all of us are prosperous, hopeful, and positive! We just have to stay close to Him so that we can hear when he gives us guidance in our lives. Whenever we worry and fear, we are actually showing a lack of faith, which hurts God. [Read more…]

Autumn CrockPot Potpourri Recipe

Autumn finally here and it’s been quite lovely weather where we live so far! It’s nice to step outdoors to take in the crisp and cool autumn air, but sometimes it’s great to be able to enjoy the scents of the season while being inside your home without having to always burn a candle. The scent that this CrockPot recipe creates always leaves me feeling nostalgic and it is the perfect mix of spicy and sweet. Everyone in our household really loves the aroma this gives off once it simmers for a bit. Below you’ll find a quick, simple, festive, and yummy smelling recipe for an Autumn CrockPot Potpourri. There are lots of variations of this recipe out there, but I happen to prefer the way this one smells the best. Another plus is that for this recipe, most of the ingredients are probably already in your kitchen! This finishes up smelling like warm apple pie or pumpkin pie throughout your home depending on which of the two is used.  The smell is delightful and I thought some of you might like this too! The recipe is below.

Fall Nail Polish Ideas

Polish

There are so many things I like about the Fall time: rich and moody colors, the fashion, the fabulous boot options, leather moto jackets galore, fun scarves, warm fall drinks,  and the inviting feel of Fall home decor are just a few.  I really like to experiment with nail polish and I go between using an at home gel system and actually polishing my nails with traditional polish. With the new season quickly approaching, I thought it would be fun to share some of my picks for great Fall 2015 nail colors. You’ll see a couple of  “oldies but goodies” and also some that are from newer collections. All are equally pretty awesome colors.  If you try any of these recommendations, just be sure to use a good base coat such as CND Stickey Base Coat and good fast dry shiny top coat such as Seche Vite when you polish your nails. These two really make polishing your nails a breeze, whether you’re a mommy or are simply one busy lady 🙂 It only takes 15-20 minutes to do your nails start to finish with the fast dry topcoat. Just be sure to apply it to wet polish for it to work effectively.  Try them all, and you’ll be glad you did! Enjoy!

  • Tom Ford Toasted Sugar– this is so gorgeous to me! It is a great nude shade that will provide a barely-there polished look to any outfit worn this fall.
  • Butter London Lovely Jubbly – this is such a fun glitter polish for all year round, but I particularly like the idea of wearing this with lots of black layered pieces and a good scarf  this fall to really showcase the blue, pink, and purple glitter.
