We put our hope in the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone. (Psalm 33:20-22)
Everyone hopes for something! So what is it that you are hoping for? A new car or home? A future spouse? A better job? Many times we use the term “hope” when we refer to our wishful thinking, but this is not what true biblical hope is.
Hope can be defined as “a wish or desire supported by some confidence of its fulfillment.” Therefore, hope from a Biblical perspective is exactly that: It’s a belief grounded in faith that is based on the promises of a God ,who never lies and who always keeps His word.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” (Romans 5:3-5 NLT)
True hope is refreshing, giving us assurance and endurance to keep going even longer than we think we can! We know without a doubt that we can put all hope in the Lord not only because of His unchanging character, but also because of His promises made to us. With biblical hope, we know for certain that our future always ends well as The Lord uses every experience we go through for our good.
God is good and we never have to feel discouraged! He redeems us, gives us second chances, and freely forgives. Whatever we give to God He is able to transform into something useful and good! The Lord is good to those who trust in Him. We look to Him for endurance, knowing that we are more than conquerors in Him!
Additional Verses to Further Study Hope:

“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)
“Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing.” (Psalm 34:10)
Prayer Starter:
“Lord, all my hope is in You! Because of Your love, I never need to lose hope! Your word says that victory is always mine when I place all hope in You. I chose to believe your every word, God. It is You that forgives, redeems, and gives me endurance to keep on going. Thank you, Father for your unchanging love and faithfulness.”
Wishing you all a great week!
