God Cares

God Cares about You

When we pray, we believe that by faith, the Lord hears our prayers. God is our Father as well as our friend; therefore He cares about every issue that we care about. In fact, believing that God hears, cares, and is constantly at work on our behalf, fills the heart of believers with hope for the future.

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

Equally Yoked Relationships

Equally Yoked Relationships

7:25 am. Saturday.

It was a cold morning outside and the house felt warm and cozy, everyone was sleeping soundly. I woke up before anyone else to an extremely heavy heart, with tons things on my mind as soon as my eyes opened. I was extremely unsettled about some personal relationships, had some doubts, some fears, was reminded of my shortcomings…you name it, I was feeling it and it all was SO heavy on my heart. I felt so many unpleasant emotions, all at once, to the point of tears beginning to stream down my face as I continued to lie with my back towards Eddie and his to mine (somehow, no matter what way we end up falling asleep at night, we more often than not end up like this by morning! Wild sleepers, I guess). I thought to myself “don’t wake him up he’s so comfy – be really quiet.”  To my surprise, from a deep sleep, I hear him say softly:

“Babe, whats wrong?'” as he turned over and grabbed my hand.  [Read more…]

Daily Intimate Time With God

Seek_the_Lord_Continually_1Chronicles16_11_Devotion_Intimate_Daily_Time_With_God

The Bible is our guide for daily living and we should seek God’s presence continually. Having consistent and daily intimate time with God is a goal that many of us have, but sometimes that goal is difficult to accomplish. We find ourselves racing through life, busy with things to check off of our to-do lists, our work, obligations, relationships, and much more. God actually desires for us to spend quality time with Him each day because He loves us that much! We can choose to spend this quality time with the Lord in the first portion of each day, as well as having mini-moments throughout the day, and also at the end of each day. Some prefer to spend quality time with God through using a combination of all of these methods throughout the course of the day. To worship is to reverence and to honor God. Spending quality time with the Lord each day is a form of worship, which makes God smile. He wants us to know Him, love Him, and worship Him. We always find joy when worshipping Him.

Our faith is further developed each time we fellowship with the Lord, preferably through daily intimate time. We have to be sure that we are truly setting out to enjoy God during this time together and not just simply trying to check something else off of our lists. God wants us to fill each day of our lives with meaning and with purpose. Spending time with Him allows Him to reveal things to us that lead us into meaning and purpose in our lives – His will.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)

When preparing to take out some time to spend with God, here are a few things to remember :

  • Focus on is TODAY only and the fact that we can have time with Him today. Don’t worry about making promises about tomorrow and thinking of what things we will do tomorrow. Follow Jesus one day at a time, this keeps us in the center of God’s will.
  • Bring just a few things such as your Bible, a pen [Read more…]

Focusing Thoughts ~ Philippians 4:8

Think about these things

Philippians 4:8 is a thought-provoking verse in the Bible.  It reminds us that we must remember to be conscious of our thoughts and also that we must ensure that we are focusing thoughts in the proper direction. Sometimes our minds can wander and get unfocused, causing us to seemingly forget what we know to be true. I’m surely guilty of this. The mind can begin to then feel cluttered and be completely unfocused with tons of things running through it, sometimes even simultaneously. We may find ourselves constantly [Read more…]
