Each day, God desires to speak truth of our identity to us through His word and Spirit. Due to the busy nature of daily life, our challenge is to take the time to slow down and listen closely.
It’s a privilege to be renewed daily with God’s truth. Renewal comes by reading the word and being in the Lord’s presence. A completely refreshed spirit, thinks the the way God thinks.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
(Romans 12:2)
Devotion: Renewing The Mind Each Day
We can ask the holy Spirit to reveal the ways that He wants to apply the word specifically to our lives. God’s Spirit is our teacher as we read God’s word. Renewal takes place as we get a better understanding and clarity on how to apply God’s word to our own lives.
God’s plan always guides us in such a way that we will encounter Him and experience full renewal. We just have to be sure to make space for God to experience his refreshing love. In God’s presence we are always made whole again, with the weary places of the heart healed.
Believing God’s word over the words of others is an act of worship. His word has the ability to completely change our lives if we remain obedient. God speaks his truth into our lives, affecting the way we see ourselves, as well as our thoughts, emotions, and actions as we spend time in his presence.
Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.
(Colossians 3:10)
Our outlook on life becomes one of abundance, joy, purpose, and fruitfulness when we keep our minds on the things of God.
Additional Verses for Further Study on Renewing the Mind:
“And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” (Revelation 21:5)
“Create in me a clean heart, God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. ” (Psalm 51:10)
“Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. ” (Romans 8: 5-6)
Prayer Starter:
