Strength, Power, and Peace

devotions for women

Absolutely nothing about our lives surprises God. Because He’s a loving and merciful Father, God delights in knowing that we need Him. When we admit our weak areas and allow The Lord into those areas, we are always made stronger as Devine help comes to our rescue!

God’s grace, strength, power, and peace is more than enough for us! The beautiful thing is that these are all constantly available to us by faith. When we are in need, all we must do is simply ask the Father to replenish or restore what we are in need of.  Referring back to the promises of God keeps the heart hopeful, as we are reminded of God’s goodness towards us.

It’s comforting to know that we can always rely on the Lord. His promises inspire peace! We become more loving, and equally more like Christ when we trust in the promises of God. Here are a few promises that God wants you to know and find comfort in:

God Loves You

“neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:28)

You are Redeemed & Have an eternal home in Heaven

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

God formed You with Intention and He Fully Knows You

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139)

God’s Plan for Your Life is Good and Will Prosper You
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
The Power of Christ is available to You by faith. This power gives you special strength!
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Phillipians 4:13)
Prayer Starter:
“Lord, I rely on Your promises to me each day! You give me strength and infuse me with peace no matter what comes my way. I am thankful for your love for me.”
Wishing you all a great week!

Everything Beautiful and Appropriate in its time

devotion for women beautiful in its time

He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP)

Everyone searches for purpose in life. When we search for purpose on our own, we end up frustrated, confused, and pretty unclear on what we are supposed to be spending time doing. Many people have no idea what their real purpose is! In order to discover true God-given purpose, we have to consult with the Lord, because He is our maker.

Devotion: He has made everything beautiful in its time

Everything is as God has made it; not as it appears to us! God’s timing better than the timelines we have made up for our own lives. It’s not always easy to accept, but this means we will have seasons of waiting, sitting at His feet, which allows us to grow into what God made us to be. The Lord takes us on an individualized path, at the pace that He sets, in order to grow us and fully equip us for what our ultimate purpose is.

The plan that God has for our lives is ultimately is revealed, but it unfolds little by little. He wants us to enjoy life, trusting Him as we go, ultimately leading us to discovering His purpose. Staying close to Him keeps us sensitive to where He is leading us. Find comfort in knowing that He knows what’s best for you. God sees the entire picture, we cannot!

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NLT)

The Lord is faithful and His word is true, so every promise made to you, friend, will be kept! Our God makes EVERYTHING beautiful in its time and His timing is always perfect.

Additional Verses to Further Study Purpose:

“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Prayer Starter:

“Lord, Your words are True. My life is orchestrated by You,  and You use everything for Your glory and purpose. I’ll step back and allow You to lead me. Thank you, Father, for the patience to wait on You in all that I do.”

Wishing you all a great week!

Getting to Know God

Happy Sunday , friends! I took a short break from my usual weekly devotion posting schedule every Sunday, but I’m getting back in the swing today! Prayerfully, I hope that this week’s faith post comforts and inspires you as you receive God’s word into your hearts and minds. Enjoy!

Getting to Know God Devotion for Women

Weekly Devotion: Getting to Know God

Jesus Christ reveals God to us! As believers, we are grateful for this revelation because often times, we try to understand God in human terms, using our limited human thinking and reasoning. In no way, shape, or form can we compare ourselves to our God.  He has unique power, knowledge, and understanding that far exceed ours.

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.“ (John 1:18)

The Bible says that for us to comprehend God, we must know Jesus! This is because He is God in the bodily form, therefore we know God through Jesus.

Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9)

I strive to know Him in many ways: as a loving Father, a faithful friend, a provider, as the one true lover of my soul, and as much, much more. One thing’s for sure: the deeper we are in relationship with the Lord, the more we understand our Father God.  As we understand God more, we learn His nature, along with His special characteristics.

With this understanding, fear, uncertainty, and even the need to know everything diminishes, leaving us strengthened and renewed. My prayer is that we all continually seek Him to get a glimpse of Him. Our God is so powerful that even a glimpse of Him causes change! Those sweet moments we experience through seeking are what enable us to align our thoughts, words, and actions with the standards of the Lord.

Additional Verses to Further Study Getting to Know God:

“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ This is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20)

“but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)

“I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me,” (John 10:14)

Prayer Starter:

“Lord, I want to know you. As I allow You to reside in my heart, I surrender all fear, uncertainty, and the need to know everything to You, Father. I am in awe of You.”

Wishing you all a great week!

Within Us and Through Us

Devotion for women

for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. (Philippians 2:13)

God works out his good plan and purpose through each of us. It is through working within us and through us that His overall it gets accomplished.   It’s both comforting to know that when we can’t, we are actually empowered as we allow God to do what we cannot! We aren’t supposed to know how to, because only God does! Surrendering to this truth and resting in it with all- assurance, we find ourselves just where the Lord wants us.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

We are now able to fully receive God’s power, goodness, and love through surrendering to His will; His way of doing things.  It’s incredibly freeing to come to the realization that it is God who gives strength, grace, and power to accomplish everything there is to accomplish, big things, as well as small things of daily life.

We can do nothing outside of abiding in Christ! When we “try,” we are actually working out of the flesh and works of the flesh will never accomplish good things. This kind of work has selfish motives and will always amount to nothing in the end.

However, as we shift all of our focus on God by walking in love, praying, studying his Word, and applying it to daily life, we are empowered. Allowing God to work within us  gives us proper discernment, wisdom, strength, knowledge, and will always produce good fruit in our lives.

Bible Verses To Further Study God Working Through Us:

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10)

“equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:21)

“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us; And confirm for us the work of our hands; Yes, confirm the work of our hands” (Psalm 90:17)

Prayer Starter:

“God, I invite you to continually work through me and within me! I focus on You so that I can walk closely with You each day. Thank you for being Lord of my life.”

Wishing you all a great week!

A Worthwhile Commitment

In Christ, we are made whole. This is because God’s Word is powerfully filled with purpose and truth! Each time we invest time in further developing our relationship with the Lord, we are filled and replinished in whatever it is we are missing. Fellowship with the Lord and simply talking to Him, as the friend He is,  deepens the relationship we have with God. As we become filled with the things of God, life dramatically changes. We begin to look at the world around us quite differently, making the way we experience the world, and our loving God, better and better!

God has a purpose for everyone and for everything. With renewed minds, emotions, and motives, we can live life the best way possible: Seeing absolutely everything through the Father’s eyes! This is why making a commitment to study God’s Word is so important for us all. Yes, it’s a bold step that does take diligence on our part, but the results we get from this commitment are well worth it.

My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. (John 10:10 NLT)

As we become more free to become who God created us to be, we have better relationships with other people, and with ourselves. When we lack nothing, it’s a lot easier to focus on others, developing healthy relationships along the way. Loving, encouraging, and enjoying others leads to a fulfilling life that anyone would be proud of.  So, trust God to heal and to make you whole! You’ll become more Christ-like day by day. Allow God’s Word to refresh your soul!

Bible Verses to Further Study Commitment to God’s Word:

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

“My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you.” (Proverbs 3:1-2)

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)

Prayer Starter:

“Lord, I love you. You make me whole, filling me with anything I am lacking. As you heal and refresh my mind, will, and emotions, I will continue to stand in awe of Your sweet commitment to always be there for me. Because of this love You give to me, I will forever give that same love back to You, Father.”
