God is Our Helper

God is our Helper_ Psalm 121 Devotion In God, we have a Father, a Savior, a Friend, and a great Helper. God is whatever we need him to be in our lives. He’s the great I Am! Psalm 121 gives more reassurance of this truth as we go further into the verse:

He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you—the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 121)

Hopefully Seeking God

Leaning on the promises of God makes us hopeful. Knowing that He keeps every promise to us gives much needed strength to keep going forward, no matter what situations come. Continually choosing to look forward brings joy!

Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning. (Psalm 30:5)

Believers know that God is soverign and that He can always be trusted. Jesus guarantees that the wait as we endure life obstacles is much easier when we surrender to Him. Inner peace fuels us with courage and strength to go on living in a way that shows other people who Christ is.

Having strong faith is the best way to face difficult situations in life. Muscles in our body get stronger when we use them, and our faith becomes stronger the more we use it! Each time we opt to trust God in difficult, sometimes even unbearable circumstances, we automatically increase our faith. A tree can bear good fruit or bad fruit. Likewise, bearing good fruit is evidence of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer. Godly fruit is long-lasting and it flourishes.

Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit” (Matthew 7:17-18).

We can produce good fruit no matter what season of life we are in. However, obedience to God, our attitudes, as well as our approach to each situation determines the condition any fruit we bear.
